The fight against IVDD by Charlotte Baldwin...
[Vid from Wales Online, we get a lovely reference from 50s; http://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/hundreds-sausage-dogs-went-mass-11777306]
We worked with the inspirational Charlotte Baldwin who aimed for the World Record for a mass Dachshund walk held at Ogmore-by-Sea in South Wales to raise awareness for a disease that can devastate the lives of Dachshunds and their families...IVDD.
Charlotte had hoped to go for a Guinness Book of Records world record for the most dogs of one breed in one place but has delayed the bid until next summer as the incredibly poor weather impacted the attendance.
Sadly, Dachshunds suffer from IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease), and great people like Charlotte are really raising awareness to help ensure that the disease is understood and, ultimately, cured/prevented. Happy Hotdogs donated a Stroller for free and another 5 at cost to ensure many hotdogs could have a new lease of life and tale to the beach like they used to.
Look forward to working with Charlotte for the full Guinness World Record next time around..!!
